This is the main content of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June this year by Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Nasser Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation of United Arab Emirates. The document was inked on the sidelines of the 108th International Labor Conference (ILC) held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The content of the (MoU) stipulates the process of recruitment, training, responsibilities of the sending and receiving agencies in addition to the content of the labor contract and the process of signing contract with labours.

The memorandum took effect immediately after signing with a term of 4 years, and would be automatically extended with the option of automatic renewal.

This (MoU) will only require domestic workers to work in the UAE, while another MOU signed in 2009 generally provided employees for all industries.

Vietnam began to provide labor to work in the UAE since 1995 with the number of migrant workers peaking at over 10,000.

Currently there are about 5,000 Vietnamese workers working in the UAE, mainly in the field of construction, mechanics, shipbuilding, hotel services, etc with a basic salary of about 450 USD per month.

The signing of the MOU in the field of domestic labour will promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of human resources based on the results of the implementation of another MOU signed in 2009. This is also a condition for domestic helpers to work in the UAE in the future.
