If your candidate is still excited about the job after the first interview, they will make the process more convenient. Whatever their reason, if your candidate suddenly cannot conduct a second interview or does not respond to the offer to work within a day or two, ask what makes them worried. In the early stages of the recruitment process, you get instant response from the candidate (in just a few minutes or hours) for calls, messages and emails but then this does not continue. And unless you have been informed of a candidate's vacation or travel plan before, any wait for more than a day is a warning bell. Because only a few more steps, the candidate will be able to get a new job and they should not show any ignorance. If they do not receive the phone, do not reply to the email or just send you vague, non-committed feedback, you have "lost" them.
Constantly "updating"
The need for a clear candidate for their ability, needs and career goals will be able to share those things with you soon during the interview process. If suddenly they have a new need in each contact, your candidate is probably looking for a reason to leave. You suddenly realize that candidates interviewing with other employers should always ask: "Are you waiting for an answer or about to interview with another employer?" In the first conversation with the candidate. And follow up later to know if they have received a call or they have received an offer to work from another company. If you do not ask, you cannot build an open relationship with this candidate. If they are a potential candidate and if you have not impressed them by watching and caring, of course they can interview elsewhere. This means that you are at risk of losing your elite candidate. But sometimes, it just means that candidates are not serious about the job. Salary requirements suddenly
Changed in the interview, you and the candidate agreed on an appropriate salary but then they proposed a higher number, never within your payment. If this happens, remember: the job you are asking for is not interesting enough for them to try. Try to have a final conversation to see if you can discover any other reason for changing their original intentions. If not, it's time to say goodbye.
