Algeria has strength in oil estimated reserves about 5.7 billion tons (equivalent to 38 billion barrels), producing near 180,000 tons per day (equivalent 1.2 million barrels), Algeria ranked 13 in output and 9 in exporting, becoming 1 in 3 of the top oil producers in Africa.
With the official declaration in trade exploitation first oil line in July, joint venture in oil exploitation is a symbol of successful cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria.
The presence of Prime Minister Algeria Abdelmalek Sellal with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at Sonatrach Headquarter showed respect and special concern of two governments for this project; along with that, this successful project also creates new prospect in cooperation of economic, trade, investment between Vietnam and Algeria.
“ This is a symbol of successful cooperation between two countries, achievement of long cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria, contributing to strengthen traditional friendly relation between two countries; creating promotion to expand cooperation in new fields”.- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stated.
The two countries have had initial success in the oil & gas field and created preconditions for development of cooperation in other fields. In the exporting labor sector, Vietnam also positively brings high skilled workers to work in Algeria in construction, oil & gas and manufacturing… For example, addition to send engineer, leading expert about oil of Vietnam to Algeria, Vietnam also has put a thousand of workers to work in oil & gas sector in Algeria each year.
