What should leaders do on Monday?

Most of people know the definition of “Monday Blues”.  In a week, if people like Friday because after that, they will have 2 days off- Saturday and Sunday; in contrast, people hate Monday because it’s time to start a new work week. On this day, working spirit of people becomes tired, sleepy, bored.

What will leader do on each Monday?

1. A short time to clean up

Last week, staffs are too busy with work, their working space may be littering with papers and documents. Leaders should give a short time for staffs to clean up their space; it may be from 10 to 20 minutes. When seeing a well-ordered space, staff will have more positive spirit to work. Besides, this also makes people have more consciousness with their working space.

2. Give the gift of a Smile

Smiling is contagious. If leaders come to company and smile more around the office, staffs will likely smile more often too and feel a openness from their leaders. Smiling helps people relax their defenses; it promotes a clearer mind; it improves moods; it makes people feel more content; it brings people back to the present.

Research also shows that the moods of employees at the start of the day affect how they feel the rest of the day.

So smile in the morning—especially on Monday!

3. Demanding weekly report from staff

After 2 days for relaxing, perhaps, most of people forget their resolved work and unsolved work. Thus, leaders should require people having a weekly report about their work on last week; people can arrange their work and have a new schedule working. Moreover, leaders also know the work situation of each person in team.

4. Having a short meeting

After weekly report, all team works should have a short meeting. This meeting does not criticize or praise anyone completing or not their work. A talent leader will know how to inspire motivation for staff; leaders just give a list gained on last week. Then, leaders will give a to-do list for this week and say “we will, we must do…. to gain success”.

Monday can make spirit working of staffs become down. But smart leaders will inspire fire for them and keep their spirit become up. Let’s create the happy and exciting for all members in your team.
