To not become a bad boss, please pay attention to the following things which aggregated by Vietnam Manpower’s survey:
Building trust
The good boss always builds employee’s confidence by listening carefully, suggesting stories and encouraging people to make constructive comments. At the same time, they do not forget to recognize employee’s achievements and create conditions for people to develop.
Conversely, a bad boss is difficult to build trust by their "unpleasant" characteristics. They rarely recognize the achievements of a staff, or vague when answer the questions. These personalities of the manager will lead to the suspicion, lack of trust for employees.
Recognizing the needs of employees
Observe and respond to the needs of each member on the team is the top priority of good leaders. They communicate with each employee to understand the needs and desires of every person, thereby creating the appropriate incentive policies.
Meanwhile, encourage, promote employees is almost "impossible" task for a bad boss. They have no idea about developing team and meeting the needs of employees with their low ability to communicate.
Awareness of the psychological impact to employees
Good leaders recognize that their positive mood will help the members take it as a mirror and even considered it as part of member’s feelings.
They create an environment with full of positive emotions every day, it also encourages members want to be more engaged with the whole team.
Conversely, poor leaders do not realize that. They usually reflected the state of negative emotions and do not realize the impact created for others.
They ignore the importance of maintaining positive emotions to bring joy to others. This can make employees feel uncomfortable, conservative and even complain if your boss is constantly criticized.
